Getting here Planes, trains and automobiles! No matter where you’re coming from or how you get here, Edmonton can easily be visited in any season. Once you arrive, getting around is a breeze.

Parking in Edmonton There are many parkades and surface parking lots, as well as metered parking available throughout the city. Surface lots and parkade rates vary from lot to lot. Street parking in Edmonton costs approx. $3.50 per hour on weekdays and weekend rates are $1.00 per hour and free on Sundays. Ensure that you read all signs carefully, and download parking apps for easy payment, and parking expiry reminders.

During the warmer months, Edmonton has electric scooter and e-bike sharing available in select areas. Bird Scooters or Lime Scooters are available for rent through their respective apps! Check the City of Edmonton website for more details regarding regulations and safe travel.

Central Station, 101 Street & Jasper Avenue

Getting into the city Catch Route 747, an express bus service from the Edmonton International Airport, to Century Park Station. From here you can transfer to another bus or train that will take you to your final destination. Red Arrow provides transportation from many surrounding cities. Alternatively, you can hire a taxi from Alberta Co-op Taxi, Edmonton Taxi, or take an Uber. Public Transport Edmonton Transit provides extensive bus and light rail transit (LRT) services. The LRT is a fast and convenient service with 15 stops around the city. You can pay per ride, or purchase a Day/ Family Pass, which permits unlimited daily travel on ETS for up to five people.

HOW TO PAY FOR ON-STREET PARKING: Once parked, find your nearest pay station. Here you can pay using coins, debit or credit cards. Rates, hours and locations vary depending on where you park.

Getting Around Most of our streets and avenues are numbered, making it simple to locate addresses. Numbered avenues run east and west, the numbers going up as you go north, e.g. 103 Avenue is north of 102 Avenue. Numbered streets run north and south, the numbers going up as you go west. The centre of this numbering system, located downtown, is 100 Street and 100 Avenue.
